How does the app access my meeting transcripts?

We use the Microsoft Graph API with application-level permissions granted by your admin. No bot joins your meetings — we read the transcript that Microsoft Teams generates natively.

Does the app work with phone calls?

Yes, if your organization has Teams Phone (Microsoft Calling Plans or Operator Connect) and call transcription is enabled. Direct Routing (third-party SBC) is not currently supported.

When do summaries appear?

Summaries are posted to your Teams chat within 30-60 seconds after the meeting or call ends. Live (real-time) summaries are not supported.

What AI model generates the summaries?

We use the best and latest AI for summarization. Your transcript data is processed with a zero-retention API — your data is never used for model training.

How does the free plan work?

The free plan includes 7 meetings per month. Once you reach the limit, summaries will not be generated until the next month.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Use the "Delete my data" option in Settings, or email privacy@callscrib.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

What Microsoft 365 license do I need?

Microsoft 365 Business Standard or above. For phone call transcription, you also need a Teams Phone license.

Does my admin need to do anything?

For Cloud mode: yes — your M365 admin must enable transcription and grant app permissions. See our Admin Setup Guide for step-by-step instructions. For the Desktop Agent: no admin is required.

What is the Desktop Agent?

The Desktop Agent is a lightweight app that runs in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows). It auto-detects meetings on any platform — Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex, and more — and delivers AI summaries without requiring IT admin approval. Download it at callscrib.com/download.

Which option should I choose — Cloud or Desktop?

Use Cloud if your organization is Teams-only and your M365 admin can enable transcription. Use the Desktop Agent if you need multi-platform support, cannot get admin approval, or want to get started as an individual. You can use both simultaneously.
