Does it record my microphone?

The Desktop Agent captures system audio (loopback) — it hears what your speakers or headphones play. It also uses your microphone to capture your own voice for speaker separation.

Does it work with any meeting platform?

Yes. Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack Huddles, or any browser-based meeting. The agent detects meetings automatically by monitoring active browser tabs and running applications.

Do I need admin permissions to install?

No. The Desktop Agent runs as a regular application. No IT admin approval, no Microsoft 365 permissions, and no tenant admin consent needed.

Can I use this alongside the Cloud version?

Yes. They are independent and complementary. Use Cloud for automatic Teams coverage with summaries posted to chat, and the Desktop Agent for meetings on other platforms.

Is my audio stored after processing?

No. Audio is processed and discarded. Only the text transcript and AI summary are stored in your CallScrib account.
